Genshin Impact: Varesa Leaked Kit, Weapon & Constellations

With the 5.5 Version update of Genshin Impact coming soon (scheduled for March 26, 2025), we’ve also gotten a leak at a new character: Varesa. She’s a 5-star limited Electro DPS using a Catalyst. This adds a new face to the Plunging Attack playstyle.

Basic Info About Varesa

Varesa is a Plunging Attack-based main DPS, primarily using her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst for damage. She can be seen as an Electro version of Xiao. She’s also the first female character in Genshin Impact to focus on Plunging Attack. This suggests she’ll likely be a Plunging Attack DPS with an emphasis on ATK, and her team setup would resemble Xiao’s.

When Varesa enters Fiery Passion, she also activates in NightSoul's Blessing state. While affected by Fiery Passion, her Normal Attack, Charged Attack, and Plunging Attack will receive a boost, dealing even stronger Electro damage.

 

Vivid Notions-Varesa’s Signature Weapon

• ATK has increased by 28%/35%/42%/49%/56%. Using a Plunging Attack grants "Dawn's First Hue," boosting Plunging Attack CRIT DMG by 28%/35%/42%/49%/56%. 

• Using an Elemental Skill or Burst grants "Twilight's Splendor," increasing Plunging Attack CRIT DMG by 40%/50%/60%/70%/80%. 

• Both effects last 15s and end 0.05s after the ground impact.

Fiery Passion: The Most Important State

Before diving into Varesa's skills, let's first get familiar with her most important special state—Fiery Passion.

In this state, Varesa's Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks will get enhanced. Varesa can use Plunging Attacks to gain Nightsoul points. She will enter Fiery Passion state  when reaching max points or using her Elemental Burst, A Dazzling Descent! 

When entering the Fiery Passion state, Varesa also triggers the Nightsoul's Blessing state, which Varesa remains in while affected by Fiery Passion. Besides, her Elemental Skill CD will reset, and damage is increased.

 

Varesa’s Skills Kit Details

Normal Attack: By the Horns

Normal Attack: Varesa unleashes up to 3 attacks, dealing Electro damage with each strike.

Charged Attack: Varesa consumes some Stamina to headbutt enemies, dealing Nightsoul Electro damage, then leaps into the air.

Plunging Attack: Varesa plunges down, dealing AoE Nightsoul Electro damage on impact. If she lands in combat or her shockwave hits an enemy, she gains 25 Nightsoul points. Reaching the max this way triggers Fiery Passion.

Normal Attack in Fiery Passion State

Normal Attack: Varesa unleashes up to 3 attacks, dealing greater Electro damage with each strike.

Charged Attack: Varesa consumes some Stamina to headbutt enemies, dealing a large amount of Nightsoul Electro damage, then leaps into the air.

Plunging Attack: Varesa consumes all Nightsoul points and dives down, dealing damage along the way and unleashing powerful AoE Nightsoul Electro damage on impact.

 

Elemental Skill: Riding the Night-Rainbow

Varesa charges forward, dealing Nightsoul Electro damage and gaining 20 Nightsoul points. She then enters "Follow-Up Strike," which boosts interruption resistance. Pressing Normal Attack triggers a free Charged Attack, with different effects for Tap or Hold.

 

Tap: Quickly rush a certain distance forward.

Hold: Varesa enters the Nightsoul's Blessing state and activates Sudden Onrush mode.

Sudden Onrush mode

Varesa continuously consumes Nightsoul points, gaining increased Movement SPD and interruption resistance. She can use terrain for flying leaps or spend more Nightsoul points to move on water or liquid Phlogiston without taking damage.

Elemental Burst: A Dazzling Descent!

Varesa leaps and performs a flying kick, dealing AoE Nightsoul Electro damage. 

In Fiery Passion, her Elemental Burst deals more damage, and after a Plunging Attack, she briefly activates Apex Drive.

Apex Drive

• Increased Interruption Resistance: Apex Drive boosts Varesa’s resistance to interruption.

• Elemental Burst Enhancement: While Apex Drive is active, Varesa can ignore the cooldown of her Elemental Burst and use it with reduced Energy cost.

• Special Plunging Attack: The special Elemental Burst, "Dazzling Descent: Volcanic Collapse," triggers a powerful Plunging Attack, "Thunderous Tornado Eruption."

• AoE Electro Damage: This attack deals AoE Nightsoul Electro damage along the path and upon landing, and it is considered Plunging Attack damage.

 

Varesa’s Leaked Passive Skills Details

Night Realm's Gift: A Torch That Incinerates Evil

• When Varesa's Nightsoul points run out, she uses Phlogiston to keep Sudden Onrush mode. 

• In Natlan, she can use Nightsoul Transmission. This triggers when switching to Varesa while sprinting, using movement Talents, or at a certain height. 

• It activates Nightsoul's Blessing, switches to Sudden Onrush, and gives 20 Nightsoul points. 

• Nightsoul Transmission can be triggered every 10 seconds by your party.

Tag-Team Triple Jump!

• After using Riding the Night-Rainbow, Varesa gains "Rainbow Crash" for 5s. 

• This boosts her Plunging Attack shockwave damage by 25%, or 50% if in Fiery Passion. 

• The effect ends when she hits an enemy or when it expires.

The Hero Twice-Returned!

When a nearby party member triggers a Nightsoul Burst, Varesa's ATK increases by 30% for 12s. This effect can stack up to 2 times, with each stack’s duration counted separately.

Blazing Heart, Singular Advance!

Varesa’s Sprint speed is increased, but her Sprint Stamina consumption rises outside of combat. In Natlan’s Phlogiston areas, party members restore 20 Phlogiston when consuming food, once every 10s. This doesn’t work in Domains, Trounce Domains, or the Spiral Abyss.

 

Constellations of Varesa

C1: Undying Passion

The Passive Talent "Tag-Team Triple Jump!" is enhanced. While "Rainbow Crash" is active, Varesa's Plunging Attack ground impact deals 50% more damage, regardless of her Fiery Passion state.

Additionally, Varesa's ATK increases by 35% for 5s when entering or exiting Fiery Passion. While in Sudden Onrush mode, she consumes 30% less Nightsoul points or Phlogiston.

C2: Beyond the Edge of Light

After using a Plunging Attack, Varesa enters Apex Drive, regardless of her Fiery Passion state. While Apex Drive is active, her interruption resistance increases. She also restores 11.5 Energy when her Plunging Attack ground impact hits an opponent.

C3: Unbowed Resolve

Increases the level of Elemental Burst: A Dazzling Descent! by 3, up to a maximum of level 15.

C4: The Courage to Press On

Varesa receives different buffs based on her state when using A Dazzling Descent!.

• If neither Fiery Passion nor Apex Drive is active, she gains Diligent Refinement for 15s, increasing her Plunging Attack ground impact DMG by 500% of her ATK, up to 20,000 DMG. This effect ends when it hits an enemy or after the duration expires.

• If either Fiery Passion or Apex Drive is active, her Elemental Burst deals 100% more damage.

C5: Thoughts Floating on the Warm Breeze

Increases the level of Normal Attack: By the Horns by 3, up to a maximum of level 15.

C6: A Hero of Justice's Triumph

Varesa restores 30 Energy when entering Apex Drive. 

During this state, her Plunging Attacks and Elemental Burst gain 10% CRIT Rate and 100% CRIT DMG. 

When holding her Elemental Skill or tapping her Elemental Skill in Sudden Onrush mode, she restores Nightsoul points up to the maximum.
