Buff in Strife of Creation
At the start of each cycle, all units regenerate 20% energy. After all memosprites act, they immediately take another action.
Any energy overflow will be stored up and returned when you use your Ultimate next time. Don’t stress about whether to use your Ultimate right before a new cycle—just play at your usual pace.
This is a pretty versatile buff. Aside from a few characters like Acheron and Feixiao whose Ultimates aren’t tied to energy, most other characters benefit in some way. High-energy characters, for example, see a huge drop in their energy recharge pressure.
It also boosts the two Remembrance characters: Aglaea and Trailblazer - The Remembrance, based memosprite summons get advantages in offense, energy recharge, and stacking.
Stage 10 Node 1: Savage God, Mad King, Incarnation of Strife-Nikador
We can call this form of Nikador the basic form for now. The main thing to focus on is breaking its War Armor. It doesn’t put much pressure on the group, but you’ll need to take multiple actions to break its shield and deal high damage.
So, according to his weaknesses, here are a few recommended team comps for fighting Nikador in its basic form:
High-Speed ATK Team
All 5-Star: Aglaea + Sunday + Robin + Huohuo
Lower-Tier: Aglaea + Sunday + Trailblazer - The Remembrance + Gallagher
Aglaea’s high-speed attacks and low-cost skill points make her great for fighting Basic Form Nikador. However, she consumes energy quickly, so support from energy recharge characters like Sunday, Huohuo, or Tingyun is needed.
Aglaea and Garmentmaker gain 15% speed and 55 points per stack, making energy regeneration crucial. Sunday is the top choice, as he can recharge both Aglaea and Garmentmaker with each action, quickly stacking the 6-layer limit.
If you haven’t pulled Aglaea yet, you can top-up through the HSR recharge and try to pull her before the version update. This will be really helpful for future battles.
Follow-up Attack Team
Choice 1: The Herta + Herta(Serval) + Robin + Huohuo(Lingsha)
Choice 2: Feixiao + March 7th: The Hunt + Robin + Survival (ep. Huohuo/Lingsha/Aventurine)
The Herta and Feixiao, as high-frequency Main DPS, need teammates with similar attack speed to reach their full potential. Robin is key, offering high ATK, extra DMG, and team energy regen. Herta and March 7th are free characters with solid attack frequency and extra attacks. For the survival unit, any character who can keep the team alive will do.
Break Damage Team
Acheron + Sparkle + Jiaoqiu(Pela) + Aventurine(Gallagher)
This team shines with Sparkle enabling Acheron’s fast Ultimate stack, Jiaoqiu providing group damage and vulnerability debuff, and Aventurine ensuring survival. For a lower-tier option, Pela helps Acheron stack faster, while Gallagher boosts her damage with 36% Crit DMG and 12% ATK.
Stage 10 Node 2: Borisin Warhead: Hoolay
Borisin Warhead: Hoolay combines single-target, AoE, spread damage, control, energy regeneration, and summoning in one. It also has two phases, extremely high speed, double actions, and speed boosts. If you don’t understand its mechanics or lack the right team, it can be tough to handle.
Be aware that Wolftrooper’s attacks also stack Bloodlust for Hoolay, so it’s recommended to deal with Wolftrooper early on, especially if your survival unit isn’t highly leveled. Once Bloodlust stacks reach 6, Hoolay will enter the Moon Rage state and act immediately. In Moon Rage, Hoolay’s speed and damage are significantly increased.
To handle the Moon Rage mechanic, there are a few strategies you can use:
-
Break Hoolay’s toughness bar.
-
Use a high-speed team (like a Counter ATK team) to stack faster than Hoolay’s Irate stack.
-
Wait for the Moon Rage countdown to end, but this requires a high-level survival character.
Counter ATK Team
All 5-Star: Yunli + Topaz & Numby + Robin + Aventurine
Lower-Tier: Clara + Tingyun + Robin + Survival
Basically, Yunli is recommended to go for a 3-support-1 DPS team comp to maximize her damage potential. Topaz and Robin are top choices as teammates, both fitting well with high-speed teams. Robin also boosts Yunli’s Crit DMG, ATK, and chases Crit DMG.
It’s recommended to use Yunli’s Ultimate just before Hoolay acts, to maintain her counter attack mechanism. Keep her active to quickly remove Hoolay’s Irate stacks.
※ The team’s high-speed attacks and burst damage require solid survival units, so it's best to have a high-investment character in the survival character.
Stage 12 Node 1: Swarm: True Sting
Swarm: True Sting is already our 'old friend'. Every time you defeat a Juvenile Sting or Lesser Sting, it triggers an explosion to their friendly units and adds a 10% vulnerability stack. A little trick to boost damage is to make good use of the True Stings it spawns for extra explosions. The best attributes are 'Imaginary > Ice > Quantum,' so try to use AoE characters.
Super Break Damage Team
Firefly(Rappa) + Trailblazer - The Harmony + Ruan Mei(Fugue) + Lingsha(Gallagher)
Firefly relies on its own mechanics and team synergy to quickly break toughness, dealing high damage with the help of Trailblazer - The Harmony's super break bonus. It also features high speed and multiple actions.
However, Firefly depends heavily on Ruan Mei and Trailblazer. Ruan Mei’s buffs like breaking efficiency, speed, breaking extension, and anti-piercing are all effective, while Trailblazer’s high super break stats and multiplier are essential. Lingsha and Gallagher are the go-to supports for the breaking system.
Original The Destruction DPS Team
Choice 1: Dan Heng • Imbibitor Lunae + Sparkle + Ruan Mei + Luocha(Aventurine)
Choice 2: Jingliu + Sunday(Bronya) + Ruan Mei(Pela) + Luocha(Huohuo)
Our old friend! They’re still strong! Imbibitor Lunae at C2 is best, boosting his damage and reducing skill point cost. If you don't have C2, Sparkle is a key support, easing skill point pressure and increasing Crit DMG. He’s vulnerable to debuffs, so a control-cleansing support is needed to keep him safe.
Jingliu is simpler— just needs her support to have an action advance effect. With her signature Light Cone, she can maintain high output in special states, gaining 42% damage boost and 12% ignore defense.
※ The Herta can also be used, but considering the difficulty of Node 2, it's recommended to save The Herta or Aglaea. Node 2 is the biggest challenge this time, so team comp should be prioritized!
Stage 12 Node 2: The Giver, Master of Legions, Lance of Fury-Nikador
In Stage 12, two new enemies appear: Furiae Praetor and The Giver, Master of Legions, Lance of Fury-Nikador.
Furiae Praetor has a sweeping attack that targets three random characters, ignoring taunt. Characters in positions 2 and 3 are more vulnerable, so it’s best to place tougher characters there.
High-DMG Team: Furiae Praetor summons 2 Furiae Warriors first. Have your Main DPS defeat them for energy, then handle the Illumination Dragonfish.
Mid-to-Low DMG Team: Use 3 skills/ults quickly to trigger Aurumaton Gatekeeper's summon, avoiding failure to clear Furiae Warriors and losing the 30% defense debuff.
Nikador’s Analysis
Two key points for fighting Nikador: breaking summons and breaking toughness.
Nikador reduces healable HP and summons four summons based on the team's lost HP. Destroying them deals 13.5% HP damage to Nikador, with each linked to a 100% damage boost for its assigned character.
※ No matter if you're single-target or AoE, the Main DPS should prioritize their assigned summon first, then focus on Nikador.
Nikador has 7/12 stacks of 'Titanic Corpus', reducing damage by 10%/30% before breaking. Attacks lower its stacks based on Glory stack (Skill/Ultimate adds up to 2 stack of Glory). At 7 stacks, whoever breaks gains energy. At 12 stacks, the whole team does.
※ Breaking toughness deals 377K damage (10% HP) instantly, with each attack adding 37.7K. High-speed, multi-action units can maximize this extra damage.
Stage 12 Node 2: Recommended Team Comp
Prioritize high-frequency AoE characters.
High-Speed ATK Team: Aglaea
All 5-Star: Aglaea + Robin(Trailblazer - Remembrance) + Sunday + Huohuo
Lower-Tier: Aglaea + Trailblazer - Remembrance + Tingyun + Gallagher
Aglaea, a 5-star limited Lightning DPS from the Path of Remembrance, excels in triple-target damage. Since the Path is still developing, suitable teammates are limited. Sunday is one of the best options, enabling Aglaea to act quickly. Without Sunday, Tingyun can work, but skill point management becomes crucial.
Her Ultimate triggers a countdown and sets SPD to 100. Use it as many times as possible before the countdown ends to avoid rebuilding all SPD stacks for Aglaea.
AoE DMG Team
The Herta + Jade(Herta) + Tribbie(Robin) + Lingsha(Huohuo)
The Herta is a 5-star Ice Erudition AoE DPS. Her Enhanced Skill deals more damage based on enemy stacks, always targeting the highest stack. She and Jade boost each other's stacks, and as Erudition characters, they further enhance damage by 8%/4%, making them a strong duo.
Tribbie, a new character in version 3.1, provides all-resistance penetration and vulnerability. She excels in group battles and works best with high-frequency group attackers like The Herta. Tribbie can unleash follow-up attacks when teammates use their Ultimates.
With her high versatility, she fits well into the upcoming group-focused environment. Highly recommended for pulls! If you're struggling with Memory of Chaos, waiting for Tribbie might make things easier!
Conclusion
This Memory of Chaos is tougher, but knowing the enemy mechanics helps you earn full rewards. With the upcoming Tribbie update, battles may get easier. If you're low on Stellar Jades after pulling for Tribbie, check out Honkai: Star Rail top-up.
Good luck, Trailblazers!
