Phase 1 Banner Recommendations
Zani
Role:
Spectro main DPS, specializes in high AoE damage and multi-wave combat.
Pros:
Damage output rivals top-tier DPS like Carlotta and Jinhsi
Functions as a Spectra damage amplifier (especially with Phoebe).
Cons:
Expensive investment for full potential — requires Phoebe. Without Phoebe, her performance drops significantly.
Pulling Recommendation:
Zani shines out as a premium burst DPS with a high skill ceiling and flexible combo possibilities, making her a top pick for Spectro Frazzle teams. While optimum compositions include Phoebe or Shorekeeper, there are feasible F2P alternatives for team formation.
Resonance Chain:
S1 comes highly recommended, followed by S2 and S6.
For more detailed analysis, check out Zani's build guide in our blog!
Weapon:
Zani's signature weapon, Blazing Justice, currently lacks effective alternatives. Thus, if you intend to invest in Zani, her signature weapon is a must-have.

Jiyan
Role:
Aero Broadblade main DPS specializing in Heavy Attack damage. He is versatile and excels in AoE and single-target scenarios.
Whenever you use his liberation, he goes into his enhanced state and deal very nice AoE damaging. Plus, his mechanic is very easy in terms of countering your enemies because you just spam and he is technically able to counter your enemies and overall that is really nice.
Pros:
Easy to play, strong AoE and crowd control, flexible team comps.
Works well with support like Verina and Mortefi who are easy to obtain
Cons:
No longer the highest DPS, but remains reliable.
Reliant on Ultimate, difficult Echo farming, average open-world performance.
Pulling Recommendation:
Resonance Chain:
S0 is sufficient. S1 give him more skill to use but not too much of a damage increase. S2 recommended for attack boost, which give him 28% attack increase as well as more resolve gain.
Weapon:
His Signature Weapon (Azure Thunderblade) has low versatility. And in fact his weapon is pretty much free-to-play friendly. For example, if you're already got Jinhsi's weapon. They can use each other's weapon because Jinhsi's broadblade is still pretty decently a Jiyan
Yinlin
Role:
Niche Electro Rectifier sub-DPS / Liberation DMG buffer, focuses on coordinated attack damage
Pros:
Decent in Xiangli Yao hyper-carry teams. Meanwhile he has strong synergy with Calcharo, Jinhsi.
Cons:
Struggles as a solo carry.
Requires String Master (signature weapon) to compete.
Pulling Recommendation:
Technically speaking, she is only pretty much Shangli Yao at the current point. If you're pulling for Yinllin, it's going to be toward investing more into your Shangli Yao.
Weapon:
Her weapon is generally a more universal weapon whichIt grants All-Type DMG Bonus and ATK% to the entire team. That can be used across many rectifier character whether Encore, Zhezhi, or Phoebe—to gain significant benefits.
Zhezhi
Role:
Fusion Gauntlet sub-DPS, provides Fusion DMG Deepen and Outro Skill support. She is best-in-slot support for Jinhsi and Carlotta.
Pros:
Provides skill damage buffs, energy regen, and high personal damage.
Extremely valuable for skill-based DPS comps.
Cons:
Struggles as a solo carry and only shines in specific team setups.
Pulling Recommendation:
If you're running Jinhsi or Carlotta, you can consider ot pull Zhezhi.
Resonance Chain:
S1 gives her 10% crit rate, which makes her coordinating attack off field do more nicely. Her S2 gives more damage for her.
Generally speaking, you can stop at S1 if you are looking toward more other different character for you.
Weapon:
Zhezhi's Signature Weapon (Rime-Draped Sporouts) provides 12% ATK and 48% Normal Attack DMG Bonus. When the character is off-field, the Normal Attack DMG Bonus further increases to 52%, perfectly synergizing with Zhezhi's kit.
This weapon is also Encore's BiS. However, for versatility, players who own Yinlin may prefer pulling Yinlin's signature weapon instead, as it can be shared among multiple characters for higher cost efficiency.
Xiangli Yao
Role:
Electro Gauntlet hypercarry with crowd control, good at AoE attacks
Pros:
High burst damage, strong AoE, easy to play.
Received buffs (Nightmare Thunder echo). Not only did he receive shorekeeper like everyone else in the game, he also received a new echo with the nightmare thunder and nephase.
Cons:
Limited team options (best with Yinlin or Chongli).
Pulling Recommendation:
Likewise, for players considering pulling for Xiangli Yao, it’s better to pair him with Yinlin. However, he performs also well in dual-DPS teams when paired with characters like Rover Havoc or Changli, offering strong synergy and damage output even without Yinlin.
Resonance Chain
S0 is already strong. S1 (Crit Rate boost) is highly valuable. S2 is pretty decent because overall you're having a 30% increase toward his crit damage.
If you're looking into investing into Xiangli Yao, you can aim for his S2.
Weapon:
His Signature Weapon (Verity's Handle) has low versatility, so you don't technically need his signature weapon to do good as he already have very nice free-to-play option.
Phoebe
Role:
Spectra hyper-carry & support, now even stronger with Zanie & Ciaccona
Pros:
No weaknesses—excels in AoE, single-target, and multi-wave.
Works in F2P teams (Verina + Spectra Rover) and premium comps.
Best support for Zanie, making her future-proof.
Pulling Recommendation:
Resonance Chain:
S1 is an okay increase. It gives more multiplier for Spectral Frazzle. S2 is Phoebe's key Resonance Chain that it gives a pretty high major damage increase.
If you want Zani, Phoebe is a must-pull.
If you don't plan to pull for Zani, then Phoebe can safely be skipped.
Phase 2 Banner Recommendations
Ciaccona
Role:
Aero Pistols sub-DPS / Support
Pros:
Versatile Debuff Application -- Ciaccona can apply both Aero Erosion and Spectro Frazzle via her Resonance Liberation
Off-Field Damage and Suppor
Synergy with Aero Teams
Cons:
Niche Role -- Ciaccona’s kit is heavily tailored to Aero Erosion and Spectro Frazzle teams, limiting her effectiveness in teams without DoT synergy
Complex Playstyle
Pulling Recommendation:
Resonance Chain:
S2 comes highly recommended, followed by S1 and S6.
Weapon:
F2P/Low-Spender: Stick with Static Mist or other 4-star Pistols. Only pull for Woodland Aria if you’re a Ciaccona main or have guaranteed pulls after securing her.
⭐For more detailed analysis, check out Ciaccona's build guide in our blog!⭐
Jinhsi
Role:
Spectro Broadblade hypercarry.
Pros:
High burst damage, flexible rotations, beginner-friendly -- easy to play and build team.
Cons:
Damage relies on Loong's DMG and it may overkill in multi-wave content.
Pulling Recommendation:
Overall, Jinxi remains one of the strongest Main DPS characters in Wuthering Waves and is highly recommended for players lacking a primary damage dealer.
However, there’s one key consideration: Since Zanni is also a top-tier Spectro DPS, F2P/low-spending players are advised to choose only one of the two based on preference to avoid attribute overlap and optimize resource efficiency.
Resonance Chain:
S0 is okay. S1 is a rather nice damaging increase for her.
Weapon:
Jinhsi's Signature weapon, "Ages of Harvest" features an effect with 12% all-type damage bonus and 48% resonance skill damage boost. However, currently there are no other broadblade characters focused on resonance skill damage.
Therefore, it is only recommended for players who want to enhance Jinxi's performance to pull for it.
Changli
Role:
Fusion Sword DPS, focuses on Resonance skill output
Pros:
Smooth damage output, strong in dual-carry teams.
Cons:
High skill ceiling.
Pulling Recommendation:
Pull if you enjoy complex rotations or have Baizhi.
Resonance Chain:
Changli's S1 only provides a 10% damage increase, and that anti-interruption ability won't even trigger against some attacks from Cost 4 bosses—it's somewhat unreliable. So for players looking to invest in her Resonance Chains, S2 and above is recommended.
Weapon:
Her Signature weapon is not reaaly needed because she's one of the few character that the difference between a signature and the fivestar standard options is rather minimal. So, you can use the standard option and still going to be very nice for her.
However, her Signature weapon still quite a solid option when it comes to versatility, It's recommended for those who want to strengthen Changli or need a second 5-star Broadblade in their team.
Carlotta
Role:
Glacio Pistol hypercarry, excels in single-target damage.
Pros:
Best boss killer, strong ranged attacks with amaze freezing machanic
Cons:
Weak AoE, Ultimate-dependent.
Pulling Recommendation:
She’s a highly recommended pull—especially against single-target enemies, where she performs exceptionally well. And if you plan to pull for Carlotta, it’s strongly advised to also pull Zhezhi, as their synergy significantly impacts team performance.
Resonance Chain:
S0 is strong enough. If you don't plan to pull at S6, it's best to stop at S3 or below.
Weapon:
Her Signature weapons, "The Last Dance" provides a 12% ATK increase and a 48% Resonance Skill DMG boost. While tailor-made for Carlotta, it also perfectly synergizes with Chixia's kit, making it a strong option for her as well.
Roccia
Role:
Havoc Gauntlet sub-DPS, provides Havoc DMG Deepen and crowd control.
Pros:
Buff Havoc character pretty nicely.
Be able to do decent damage and has great mechanic of doing crowd control
Cons:
Sanhua (4-star) is Roccia's strong competitor for not only Sanhua is more available but her damage-boosting ability is nearly on par with Roccia's at S6.
Pulling Recommendation:
Only pull if you have Camellya or you have a particular fondness for her. For F2P players, she has a lower pulling priority.
Resonance Chain:
S1 is useless. For most players, S2 is the sweet spot for optimal team support value. But stop at S2 unless you plan to go all the way to S6 to build her as a Main DPS.
Weapon:
Since Roccia's damage contribution in a team is relatively low, and there are currently no other Gauntlet characters focused on heavy attacks besides her, the priority for pulling her weapon is not high.
Brant
Role:
Fusion Sword DPS, a versatile solo carry.
Pros:
High damage, self-sustain, flexible rotations, ability to heal as well as providing the team-wide shield
Cons:
Tough to build, extremely signature weapon-dependent (Unflickering Valor).
Pulling Recommendation:
Brant is pretty much a character that is suggested to pull whenever you are using him on a Changi team. Meanwhile, he can still deliver excellent performance when paired with Sanhua.
But only pull if you can afford his signature weapon because he has no viable alternative weapons. He is someone that skills off of energy regen. His signature give him massive boosts Resonance Efficiency, enablingn his high ATK scaling. So whenever you are building him energy regen investment is definitely something that you want to look into.
Resonance Chain:
Brant's Resonance Chains are all quite powerful, as they patch up the his missing damage multipliers across the board. Just be careful not to stop at C4 or C5—those are weaker transition stages.
