After ally targets (excluding Netherwing) receive healing, converts 100% of healed value into 'Newbud." lf Netherwing is on the battlefield, the healing is instead converted into Netherwing's HP. 2. Inverted Torch

While Dead Dragon is not on the field, 100% of excess healing for each ally target will restore an equal amount of "Stamen Nova." While Dead Dragon is on the field, the excess healing will restore an equal amount of HP for Dead Dragon. Each restoration cannot exceed 15% of max "Stamen Nova" / Dead Dragon's Max HP.

While Castorice's current HP is equal to 50% of her Max HP or higher, increases her SPD by 40%.

Castorice’s Eidolons

castorice eidolons

E1: Snowland's Holy Maiden Entombs With Memories

Each time the Dead Dragon uses "Dimscorch Breath," increases its DMG dealt by 30% 20%. This effect stacks up to 6 and lasts until the end of this turn.

When enemy HP is 80/50% or below, all Netherwing attackes and joint attacks deal 120%/140% of their original DMG.

The progression shows a deliberate pivot from a powerful, action-driven burst mechanic to a broader, HP-conditional multiplier. It sacrifices peak damage for ease of use, wider scope (joint attacks included), and alignment with her updated kit’s focus on finishing low-HP enemies and sustained presence. This rework balances her earlier high-damage potential, making E1 less explosive but more versatile and team-oriented.

E2: And Crowns with Flowers Aflutter

After summoning memosprite Dead Dragon Netherwing, Castorice gains 2 stack(s) of "Ardent Will." A maximum of 2 stacks of "Ardent Will" can be possessed at any given time, and can be used to offset the Netherwing's HP consumption when using Memosprite Skill "Breath Scorches the Shadow" while advancing Castorice's action by 100%. The next Enhanced Skill deals 100% more DMG. In the next usage of Enhanced Skill, Castorice recovers obtains 20% of maximum "Newbud" points.

The change seems like a nerf to her offensive ceiling in favor of a more balanced, sustain-focused role. It aligns with her kit’s HP-consumption theme but may disappoint players expecting a damage powerhouse, especially at E2 investment.

E3: Devote Pilgrim Dances in the Deathrealm

Ultimate Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15.

Basic ATK Lv. +1, up to a maximum of Lv. 10.

Memosprite Talent Lv. +1, up to a maximum of Lv. 10.

This change strengthens Castoric’s E3 from a standard eidolon effect to a more comprehensive upgrade, enhancing her damage potential and memosprite utility without altering the original benefits.

E4: And Sleeps in Elegies Embetter

While Castorice is on the battlefield, all allies' Incoming Healing increases by 20% when having their HP restored.

A team-wide sustain boost to counter her HP-draining kit. Pairs well with healers like Huohuo or Luocha, mitigating the impact of her 40-50% HP consumption mechanics.

E5: Pristine Chapter Prettifies with Prophecies

Skill Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15.

Talent Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15.

Memosprite Skill Lv. +1, up to a maximum of Lv. 10.

Another positive adjustment, making her eidolon more comprehensive and appealing.

E6: And Waits for Time to Un-Coccon, Unfetters

When Castorice and or Netherwing deals DMG, increases Quantum RES PEN by 20%, and Deadthwing will not disappear on its own after taking an action. and additionally increases the Bounce count for Netherwing's Talent "Wings Sweep the Ruins" by 3 time(s)

This is a trade-off, not a strict buff or nerf. The previous v2 favored sustained presence, ideal for endurance content, while v3 boosts burst damage, better for quick clears. The 20% Quantum RES PEN remains a strong constant, but the shift to bounces suggests a adjustment to diversify Castorice’s E6 from durability to offensive spike, possibly balancing her against other DPS units.

V3&V4 Conclusion & Analysis

Light Cone Bonus: The effect boost enhance Castoric’s durability, damage penetration, and turn efficiency over the previous version. The shift from action advance to SPD aligns with her speed boost and frequent summons, making her more consistent and versatile.

Skill Adjustments: While Castorice's damage has been slightly reduced compared to the previous version of the beta, she is now much easier to play due to the lower team-wide HP drain (decreased by 10%) from her skill. Also, Instead of charging her ultimate solely when an ally receives overhealing, she can now charge it whenever an ally receives any type of healing, making it much easier to get her ultimate up. This way, the ultimate may be used more frequently, and Pollux could stay on the field for longer periods of time. This could permit the concept of dual sustain. Perhaps this buff is being applied to improve compatibility with the upcoming Hyacine.

Speed Boost: Castorice's Summon Ability is related to her ultimate, and it has seen some great changes. Previously, the summon speed was a little slow, limiting its ability to act swiftly during battle. But now it's been upgraded with a speed boost that's a GameChanger for anyone who was frustrated with how slowly the summon moved before. This means it can now act faster in battle, which is fantastic for optimizing your strategy.

Memosprite Skills Boost: The change of Breath Scorches the Shadow extends Deathwing’s lifespan and adds a new effect, likely a damage or utility bonus. The low-HP mechanic ensures Deathwing survives at 1 HP after hitting 25% or below, allowing it to use its full 3 actions (or more with summons) without disappearing prematurely.

Traces Adjustments: One of her earlier traces, which improved the speed of both Castorice and her summons while their HP was high, has been replaced with a new trace, which improves Castorice speed rather than the summons. Another trace that allowed healing to be transformed into bonus damage for the summon has been slightly improved. More HP can now be turned into summon damage, adding more damage potential when you're working with sustain.

While T3 give her higher burst potential -- max boost jumps from 40% to 120%, doubling Deathwing’s damage ceiling. And the stacking mechanic rewards proactive use of Deathwing, synergizing with her speed boost.

Is Catorice Worth Pulling?

Castorice's kit have already shown that she is a versatile and powerful addition to any team. When weighing her pull value, a variety of factors can be considered.

Pros

Improved Playability & Sustainability: Lower HP drain and broader ultimate charging (any healing) of v3 make her easier to manage, reducing the need for perfect sustain setups. Pairing with healers like Gallagher or the upcoming Hyacine becomes viable, broadening team options. Deathwing’s HP restore on disappearance adds survivability, mitigating her HP-drain drawback.

Quantum Utility: According to leaks, as a Quantum Remembrance unit, she fills a niche with RES shred ("Lost Netherland," 10-25%) and probable off-field revive ("Sanctuary of Lunar Cocoon"), increasing team flexibility.

Burst Potential: T3’s 120% stacking doubles Deathwing’s damage ceiling (60% with 3 actions), synergizing with her speed boost and proactive play, making her effective in AoE and burst scenarios (e.g., Pure Fiction).

Eidolon Value: E1 (20-40% damage at 80%/50% HP) and E2 (100% action advance) significantly boost her performance, per prior discussions, making her a good investment for eidolon chasers.

Cons

Damage Trade-Off: Nerfed multipliers (24-30% HP scaling) and the T3 rework reduce her late-game finisher potential, clashing with her kit’s enemy HP scaling.

Team Dependency & Meta Context: Based on her kit, she still requires healers or high-HP allies to maximize her Talent and ultimate uptime. On the other hand, if version 3.2 favors burst DPS, her nerfed damage might lag behind top-tier options like Mydei or Tribbie in specific scenarios.

S1 or E1?

Castoric benefits from both her Light Cone and E1, but E1 offers greater long-term value for players looking to maximize her potential.

S1: Enhances her durability, damage penetration, and consistency, making her a viable option even at E0 for casual players.

E1: Provides a 20-40% damage boost when enemies are at 80%/50% HP, directly amplifying her finisher role. This synergizes perfectly with her T3 burst and low-HP mechanics, making it a game-changer for meta players tackling endgame content like Memory of Chaos.

So, if your resources are limited, E0S1 is a safe and reliable choice. However, for players aiming to optimize her performance, prioritizing E1 is the way to go.

*Note: Keep in mind this is based on incomplete beta leaks and final adjustments could shift the balance. If you’re planning to pull, follow LDShop and monitor updated leaks closer to her final release.

Conclusion

Despite the modifications to her kit, Castorice remains a standout character in Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.2 thanks to her unique mechanics and high potential. However, keep in mind that leaks are subject to change before her official release, so take this information with a grain of salt. But one thing is certain: as an anniversary character, Castorice is definitely worth looking forward to. So stay tuned for more updates!
