Magic Chess: Go Go - Best Commanders Tier List

Magic Chess: Go Go - Best Commanders Tier List

2025/02/21Game Guides

Magic Chess: Go Go is a strategy-based auto chess game where commanders play a crucial role. They can even turn the tide and lead you to victory, even when you’re at a disadvantage.

In this article, we’ll share a tier list of all the commanders in Magic Chess: Go Go, rating them based on their skills and how they perform in battle. We’ll focus on what they can do and how they improve your overall gameplay experience.

※ The tier list doesn't have a one-size-fits-all answer. If you've got your own take on things, feel free to play your way. Have fun, everyone!

S(Strong) Tier Commanders

Commanders rated as S-tier really shine in both overall battlefield performance and mobility. These commanders are some of the best in MCGG, and when players are unsure which one to choose first, they should definitely consider these top picks.

From their skills to their effectiveness, they stay strong from early to late game. Plus, they’re super versatile in battle, boosting your chances of winning.

Ling: Force The Farthest Hero Into a Duel

Ling

  • Ling can create a Dueling Ring for 2.5 seconds, pulling the farthest enemy hero to fight an allied hero with Basic Attacks.

  • Winning a duel permanently grants 6% extra Physical Attack, stacking up to 10 times.

A total of 60% extra Physical Attack makes Ling's damage even stronger. Winning makes Ling even more powerful, and Ling fits into any Synergy. You need to manage your economy to level up and attack speed items, and become a strong commander to win in duels.

Guinevere: Chance to Acquire Free Heroes

Guinevere

  • There's a 12% chance to get a free Hero when resetting the Shop.

  • The drop rate for a free Hero is up to 24% when using the skill Mystic Evolution.

Buying a Hero for free in the shop gives you extra gold. If the free Hero costs 5 gold, you can level up faster and reset the shop more often with the extra gold.

The downside is that the chance of getting a free Hero skill is only 24%. Guin's skill is really strong, even a bit overpowered right now. It gives unlimited gold if you're lucky enough to get the 24% chance for a free Hero.

Tharz: The Hero Generator

Tharz

  • At level 9, the skill removes the shop and gives a 3-star Hero you own at the start of each round.

  • The skill adds 1 Hero unit at the start of each round.

Getting a Hero every round means a total of two Heroes, which is a huge advantage. It's great for playing strong Heroes. You can get a 3-star Hero for 5 Gold

It’s easy to spend stops in the shop for 5 Gold Heroes, but the downside is you need to manage your economy to level up, and it requires effort to play in the early game. Reaching the late game takes time, and the skill takes too long. You need level 9 and some luck.

You can get a good 5 Gold Hero, but with the weaknesses, if Tharz can survive until the late game and the 5 Gold Hero is fully 3-star, all opponents will be defeated.

A(Admirable) Tier Commanders

These commanders are A-tier because they’re solid picks. They need some setup, but the rewards are well worth it. With the right preparation, they can perform excellently and provide great value in the game.

A-tier commanders are:

A-tier commanders

Lancelot: He shines in economy, offering increasing gold each round (2/2/3 and 2/3/4 in early rounds). However, early setup is crucial to fully benefit from these gold gains, requiring careful resource management to succeed in the late game.

Zilong: He excels by making Hyper Carry Heroes stronger in battle, allowing for powerful late-game performance. However, they require careful economy management to level up and are highly reliant on specific items for optimal effectiveness.

Moskov: He strengthens heroes by providing 4% Hybrid ATK and 4% HP after sacrificing gold, while also allowing the copying of 2 heroes once the Altar is set up. However, careful gold management is needed due to the sacrifice, and early setup is crucial to fully benefit from Skill 2.

Angela: She provides a shield and mana recovery for 2 heroes, enhancing their survivability. However, it requires careful economy management to level up and is best suited for mana-based synergies, making it less flexible in other team setups.

Layla: She is strong early on with the help of holograms, but becomes weaker in the late game. It requires careful economy management and works best with synergy-heavy teams, though it lacks flexibility as holograms can easily be defeated.

Nana: She can survive a fatal hit with 1 HP and gain an equipment chest. Skill 2 provides 5 gold the first time damage is taken, offering early resource boost, but the benefits are limited to the first instance of damage.

B(Balanced) Tier Commanders

The commanders ranked as Tier B are Chou, Kagura, Wanan, Fanny, Vale and Lukas.

The reason it doesn't make it to Tier A is because its skills aren't very consistent. It's strong in the early to mid game, but gets weaker in the late game. Plus, it mostly relies on specific synergies and isn't very flexible.
